Montrose

Houston's most eclectic food neighborhood. Montrose delivers everything from James Beard Award-winning fine dining at Underbelly Hospitality to late-night tacos at Tacos Tierra Caliente. Don't miss the Vietnamese-Cajun fusion at Crawfish & Noodles or a Sunday brunch at Common Bond. The Menil area is also home to some of the city's best coffee shops.

Chinatown / Bellaire Blvd

Houston's Chinatown is one of the largest and most diverse in the country — and it extends well beyond Chinese cuisine. Along Bellaire Boulevard, you'll find exceptional Vietnamese pho at Pho Binh, hand-pulled noodles at Mala Sichuan, Korean BBQ at Jang Guem Tofu, and some of the best dim sum outside of Hong Kong at Ocean Palace. This corridor alone is reason enough to live on the west side.

EaDo (East Downtown)

EaDo has emerged as Houston's trendiest food district. The neighborhood centers around the 8th Wonder brewery complex and nearby spots like Nancy's Hustle (modern American with killer natural wines), Indianola (Texas coastal cuisine), and the Truck Yard for casual outdoor hangs. The area is also walking distance to Dynamo Stadium and Minute Maid Park.

The Heights

The Heights' food scene mirrors its community: charming, walkable, and family-friendly. Highlights include Coltivare (farm-to-table Italian with an on-site garden), Heights Bier Garten, and the 19th Street corridor's collection of taco joints, coffee shops, and brunch spots. For date night, Canopy is an urban rooftop oasis.

River Oaks / Upper Kirby

Houston's fine-dining epicenter. River Oaks and the adjacent Upper Kirby area are home to Pappas Bros Steakhouse, Le Jardinier (French fine dining), and the legendary Uchi for Japanese-inspired cuisine. Kirby Lane's restaurant row offers everything from wood-fired pizza at Pizaro's to upscale Mexican at Hugo's.

Midtown

Midtown is Houston's young professional hub, and its food scene reflects that energy. The area is packed with happy hour spots, late-night eateries, and diverse quick-service restaurants. Standouts include Pondicheri (Indian-inspired all-day cafe), Les Givral's (legendary banh mi), and the ever-popular Tacos A Go Go.
